Scholars laugh as they toss sponges to their teammates, balance cups of water on their heads and chase RHF staff and volunteers.
The scholars are part of a literacy program called CDF Freedom Schools® offered through Urban Impact, the nonprofit RHF is a program of. This year, RHF offered a weekly fitness session for the scholars to run, jump and have a great time doing exercise in the form of games. RHF staff member Marla plus two volunteers, Rony and Nikolay, organize these games every Monday afternoon. RHF staff and volunteers are excited to get to serve young people in our community at Freedom Schools.
"The kids makes me feel special," Rony says afterwards. "They come running up; they're so excited to see me."
