Meet Marla: RHF Front Desk Intern

She's only been here a few weeks but has already jumped in helping teach classes, coaching new members on how to use our machines and keeping our front desk friendly and running smoothly. Welcome to the RHF team, Marla!  

What’s your favorite thing about working at RHf?

My favorite thing about working at RHF is interacting with and getting to know all of the members! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming :)

Tell us how you became interested in health and fitness?

I've always loved playing sports and being active, but I become more interested in health and fitness when I started college and studied biology, kinesiology and psychology. Playing basketball in college kept me in really good shape and I loved working out with my teammates!

 What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to stay fit?

When I was doing a summer study abroad program for 6 weeks during college, I lived with an indigenous host family in the Altiplano region of Bolivia (altitude was like 12,000 ft). After being there a few days, my friend and I decided to try to race our little host siblings back up the mountain to our house....we didn't even make it half-way back home before we were exhausted and couldn't breathe because of the altitude, but the kids were nice and waited for us to catch up to them :)

Confession time: List your top 3 healthy snacks and admit a guilty pleasure.

My favorite healthy snacks are apples with peanut butter, yogurt with granola and baby carrots. My favorite food is ice cream--I might eat it on a regular basis :)

Do you have any motivation tips for working out regularly?

Have a workout buddy or two--it helps to have people to keep you accountable and motivated! Also, try to schedule working out into your regular routine so then it becomes a habit.
