Becky is a regular volunteer you've probably seen managing our front desk four nights out of the week.
1. What's your favorite thing about working at RHF?
My favorite thing about volunteering here at RHF would definitely be the members. I have met some extremely nice and wonderful people while here and love getting to know new people.
2. Tell us a little about how you came to be a trainer. When did you first become interested in health and fitness?
I have always been interested in health and fitness. Growing up, I played soccer and softball competitively all through high school. It’s a huge part of what made me who I am today. It has so many benefits it combats diseases, improves your mood and can boost your energy. My favorite part about working out is that feeling after when you are exhausted but its one of the most rewarding feelings.
3. What's the craziest thing you've ever done to stay fit?
The craziest thing I have done to stay fit would be kickboxing. I am actually training with a personal trainer about 4 times a week to start fighting competitively! ☺
4. Confession time: List your top 3 healthy snacks and admit a guilty pleasure.
3 healthy snacks: sweet chili pistachios, kale chips, and grapefruit!
Guilty pleasure: ben and jerry's smores ice cream!!! YUMM!!!
5. Do you have any motivation tips for working out regularly?
Advice: patience. You won’t drop two jean sizes in one day, you won’t lose 50 pounds in one month, you will binge every now and then, you will go a couple days without working out every once in awhile and your weight will fluctuate every now and then because you are only human. But nothing great is ever achieved without a few obstacles. JUST KEEP GOING! YOU CAN DO IT!
We couldn't agree more! Thanks, Becky, for sharing with us. RHF relies on volunteers to keep our gym running efficiently at a low-cost to members. Find out more about opportunities to help out on our volunteer page.
