If you've ever worked out in the morning between 7:30 and 9:00, you've probably seen Manuel. He walks daily to the gym and works out for over an hour every morning. Since March is our 10th birthday month, we wanted to commemorate a long-term member of RHF. The team chose Manuel because of the dedication he's displayed since he first joined our fitness community back when we opened the modular in 2007. Thanks for staying with us all these years and setting an example of exercising to our community!
What’s your first memory of Rainier Health & Fitness?
The first day I came because a friend told me about it. She was going to it when it was over there [points to first building] and told me it had moved close to my house so I should come.
Who was the first trainer you met?
I met a couple ladies who are not here any more and Sili. Patrick was a member but not a trainer. Everyone was friendly.
What’s your favorite thing about Rainier Health & Fitness?
I like that this is a small place. Before I went to a gym that’s two floors. Here I get to know people. It’s much better.
What’s your current workout routine look like?
I work out every day—I only miss when the gym is closed for holidays. I want to keep going with you until last day. I try to keep my body in shape so do the same routine every day, mostly weights. I do my 6 pack every day.
How do you stay motivated to come so regularly?
I wake up at 6:30 AM so I just come here. If I miss one day, I feel like something’s missing. Just like work—I work 7 days a week.
