May Mom Member of the Month: Shalwanda

She juggles work, studies, caring for (and practicing sports with) two energetic young boys while still making regular time for exercise--could we find a more model (MOM Member of Month) for May? Thanks, Shalwanda, for your example of dedication to staying healthy! We love having you in our fitness community. 

What do you like best about RHF?

I like the trainers—they’re amazing and very motivating and sometimes text you when you don’t come.

What are some of your favorite ways to get active with your children?

I have two boys, ages 6 and 7, and they’re in a lot of sports—football, track and boxing. So we have to practice all those things so it’s a lot of exercise. I practice with them—do laps and touchdowns.

How do you find time and stay motivated to work out while juggling work, studies and being a mom?

I make it a priority; I don’t make it an option. Since I started dropping pounds that’s motivating to keep coming. And you guys have childcare so that’s a big plus. They can come here with me.

What do you like best about Group Training

I like that it’s not just me but other people with the same goal. That’s motivating. 

Anything else you’d like to add? 

You guys are amazing! It’s like a community…anyone can come and it’s never intimidating. You guys are so helpful if I need to figure out how to use a piece of equipment. And the  Monday hip-hop class is awesome! I love the classes.
