Alicia Haskins, Director

NASM - CPT, CrossFit Level 1, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Prior to assuming the role of director, Alicia served as an RHF trainer, manager and volunteer coordinator for eight years. She is passionate about equipping Rainier Valley residents with the tools necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Alicia studied sociology and nursing. She enjoys tennis, traveling and training for CrossFit competitions. 


Patrick Otieno, Manager

NASM - CPT, CrossFit Level 2, CrossFit Gymnastics, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Patrick works as a gym personal trainer and group training coach, helping RHF members workout get closer to their fitness goals. He loves how dynamic the representation of RHF members are: people from different races, cultural beliefs and religions overcome social boundaries and economic barriers and work under one roof. Patrick says, "My objective is to encourage sustainable development among marginalized communities by sharing knowledge as a means of empowering the community."

Marla zumFelde, Member Relations Specialist/Trainer

NASM - CPT, CrossFit Level 1, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Marla is passionate about engaging with RHF members, whether she's facilitating a training or sorting out an account as our front desk administrator. She received a bachelor of science degree in biology and also studied kinesiology and psychology. While at university, Marla played women's basketball. She continues to enjoy sports, hiking, biking and long walks through parks.

Philmon Tesfaye, Personal Trainer

NCCPT, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

An Arizona native, Philmon moved to Seattle, Washington, in May of 2017 where he trained numerous members at LA Fitness. Prior to working as a personal trainer, Philmon served with the United States Army's 82nd Airborne Division. While in the Army, he discovered a passion for fitness that developed full force when serving as his platoon/battery physical training programmer.  Currently Philmon is studying at South Seattle College and plans to transfer to Western Washington University to major in Kinesiology. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, dead lifting and working with RHF members to achieve their goals.

Kati O'Neill, RHF Intern

Kati completed her Bachelors in Dietetics with a minor in Public Health at Bluffton University in Ohio.  While at Bluffton, she ran cross country and track. Kati loves being active by running and working out.  She has completed several half marathon races and three full marathons. Kati also enjoys hiking, cooking and biking.  Currently Kati is studying to get her Masters in Nutrition in hopes of becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, RDN.

Jessica Gallardo, Trainer

NASM - CPT,CrossFit Level 1, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, Bilingual in Spanish and English

Jessica loves being active by riding her bike, participating in RHF CrossFit and her number one passion: soccer. Sometimes she combines CrossFit with an additional work out at RHF plus biking over twenty miles round-trip to and from work! Jessica completed her bachelors in psychology at the University of Washington. She says, "Even if you slow down, even if you don’t have the best time or the heaviest weight, what matters is that you got through your work out and that you finished and that’s an accomplishment. It’s about making that progression even if it’s small steps but to feel that you’re moving forward."

Jocelyn Shelby, Personal Trainer

Jocelyn is a graduate of California State University of Long Beach with specialized studies in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition and Community Wellness. She is certified with the National Federation of Professional Trainers and the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and Fitness Nutrition Specialist. She also has experience in Health Club Management, Nutrition and Eating Disorders counseling. Jocelyn has completed several marathon races and competed as a bodybuilder. She enjoys sharing her love of fitness with others so they can enjoy living a healthier lifestyle.
