Gentle yoga and restorative yoga classes provide participants an opportunity to explore accessible and supportive poses that help restore the body's nervous system to its natural, calm state. Through the integration of breath, longer held postures and the use of props, you will fully experience what it means to wind down and feel a total sense of calm and well-being. These classes are held at a slower pace and focus on stretching all areas of the body, while releasing stress and tension from joints and muscles. These are all-levels classes, appropriate for the beginner to the advanced practitioner. 
Restorative yoga will give you an opportunity to hold poses longer and work with props. You are sure to benefit from the practice,  whether you sit long hours at a desk or work out with heavy weights.

Power Yoga

Tuesdays: 5:00 PM

power yoga

Designed with CrossFitters and members who regularly do high-intensity workouts, power yoga focuses on mobility of hips, shoulders, ankles and wrists. This class is designed to keep your joints flexible so you can lift weights easily and smoothly. Not your average stretch class, power yoga incorporates boot camp exercises such as crunches and cardio with Vinyasa flow movements. Don't be surprised if you get a burpee or two in before the class is finished!

Rooted in strong alignment, intelligent sequencing and a deep respect for participants, these classes explores the balance between "being" and "becoming." Learn how to fully and lovingly accept your body as it is in the moment. All fitness levels welcome!  

Strength-building Yoga

Start your weekend with a good stretch and strengthening poses. This class is intended for all body types and walks of life. The instructor aims to ensure students feel comfortable and safe to explore their body, mind, and spirit while on their mats.

Pilates focuses on core strengthening by emphasizing small, fluid movements that increase flexibility. It's appropriate for all fitness levels so you can jump into a class at any time. Members have reported remarkable results as a result of taking Pilates at Rainier Health & Fitness.
