Update as of April 3, 2023

In light of the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) discontinuing the mask mandate in healthcare, long-term care, and adult correctional facilities, on April 3rd, RHF will be transitioning to a mask optional policy alongside this change at the state level.

While we recognize that things are getting better, this date does not mark the end of the pandemic, so please remain cautious and respectful of the community members around you and their individual choices around mask wearing.

For those who have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for covid, we ask that you continue to monitor for symptoms and wear a mask within the gym. If you prefer your trainer to be masked, please let us know.

We appreciate your continued understanding and compliance as we navigate these next steps, if you have any questions or concerns please email staff@rainierhealth.com.

Update as of December 19, 2022

"We had an overwhelming response to our mask survey last month, with individuals on both ends of the spectrum in terms of mask wearing preferences. In light of the recent surges in viral respiratory illnesses and Washington state public health leaders strongly recommending mask wearing indoors, we will be continuing with our current policy.

Please wear a mask as much as possible (only removing if stationary and distanced from others) while within the gym. As a community gym, our priority continues to be that all individuals (especially those who are immunocompromised and older adults) feel safe and comfortable working out here! Thank you for understanding this and being respectful of those around you. We appreciate you all!”

-RHF Staff

Update as of July 22, 2022

  • As we have throughout the pandemic, we want to make sure those at higher-risk are feeling safe within the gym, and that we are adhering to the most recent CDC/King County recommendations for businesses.

  • In light of the heightened Covid cases within King County recently, RHF will be "strongly recommending masks be worn at all times" within the Main Gym.

  • We continue to ask that you wear masks as you enter, leave and walk around the facility, and will maintain the option to remove your mask only when stationary and distanced from others.

  • If you have any questions or concerns please email staff@rainierhealth.com. We appreciate your continued adherence to our policies as we discern how to best ensure the health and safety of our members and our team.

Update as of June 20, 2022

Starting Monday June 27th you will only need to make a reservation for GROUP CLASSES, not for regular gym usage.

Please continue to wear masks as you enter, leave and walk around the facility, but if you are distanced from others and stationary you may remove your mask if you'd like to (we will keep this policy as Covid numbers remain high).

Thanks again for your continued adherence to our requests in order for everyone within the gym to feel safe and comfortable working out here during this time. We appreciate you!

Update as of June 13, 2022

Mask policy as outlined below will be maintained and revisited on July 13, 2022.

Update as of April 12, 2022

Thanks for your continued patience and understanding as we all continue to adapt & navigate this pandemic safely as a community. We are going to be making a slight adjustment to our mask policy effective Wednesday April 13th:

  • We ask that you wear a mask while you enter & leave the gym, and as you move around the gym, but if you are stationary and distanced from others in the main area then you may remove/pull down your mask if you would like to

  • RHF Staff & volunteers will continue to stay masked - Group Classroom will be a "mask required at all times zone" (for both group classes and individual usage throughout the day).

  • These guidelines will be in effect for 2 months, as a trial period until June 13th, at which point we will re-evaluate how Covid cases are trending and adjust anything if needed.

  • As always, if you have any questions or concerns please email staff@rainierhealth.com. We appreciate your continued adherence to our policies as we discern how to best ensure the health and safety of our members and our team.

Update as of March 10, 2022

  • Increased indoor gym capacity to 15 members per hour and 12 members per group class. Please continue to make your reservations in advance via the app or by calling the front desk.

  • Small change to our cleaning kits: each member please take a spray bottle and towel to use throughout your time in the gym instead of a whole basket. Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the gym for members' usage.

  • No longer taking temperature upon check in: Research has found that temperature checks are “insufficient as a primary means of detection to reduce Covid-19 transmission” We ask that all RHF members continue to self monitor prior to attending a gym reservation and follow CDC/Doctor's recommendations regarding quarantine/isolation if you've been exposed to a positive Covid case"

  • Continue wearing masks please: The health of our members (especially those who are immunocompromised) and our staff is very important to us, therefore we have decided to exercise caution and ask members to keep wearing masks within the gym for now. We will continue to revisit this decision monthly as we keep an eye out for how Covid cases are trending and what health care professionals are recommending in the coming weeks.

  • If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us at staff@rainierhealth.com

What can I expect at RHF?

Starting October 18th we will be prepared to receive proof of vaccination and starting October 25th will require it. We are requesting that all members do the following:

  1. Provide your vaccination proof to the front desk staff who will verify that you are fully vaccinated and make note of it on your account.

updated mask policy 8.23.png

Update as of August 18, 2021

In accordance with Governor Inslee's most recent announcement of an indoor mask mandate effective Monday August 23rd, everyone (regardless of vaccination status) will be required to wear a mask at all times within the gym.

Again, we encourage you to step outside if you need to catch your breath during a workout (or swap a cloth mask for a surgical one?!), if you'd like us to move a rower or a bike outside for you we can - just ask!, or feel free to check out any of our outdoor class offerings as well! (masks are optional outdoors and social distancing is maintained).

Although this is a step we did not want to take, it is a necessary one to keep our community safe & healthy as well as to comply with the new mandate.

Update as of July 30, 2021

Main gym max capacity is now 11 members per hour.

Update as of July 6, 2021

RHF Members! We have made some adjustments to our mask policy in the gym outlined below.

When to wear a mask:

  • Everyone (regardless of vaccination status), please enter & exit the gym wearing your mask and when moving around the gym facility

  • ***If you are not fully vaccinated you are required to keep your mask on at all times within the facility. ****

  • We have 3 squares that are designated to be “Mask Required Squares if you prefer to only be around others wearing masks. These are the Cardio square by the front door and the two squares in the Classroom.

When removing your mask is an option:

  • If you are fully vaccinated AND stationary within a square that is not designated as a “Masked Required Square”

Everyone, continue to stay at least 6 ft apart from other members and continue our current cleaning procedures.

We want you to know these decisions are in consideration of those in our community who are immunocompromised and/or are living with family who are at a higher risk. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation as we are all navigating this “return to normalcy” while also recognizing ongoing research regarding the spread of variants.

If you have questions please email staff@rainierhealth.com .

Covid Communication (5).png

Update as of June 30, 2021

We are ironing out the details of what our mask policy will be as we are keeping in mind those who are at a higher risk. Please stay tuned for changes that will begin Tuesday July 6th and continue wearing your mask in the gym until then.

Reopening Plan.png

Update as of June 24, 2021

We are looking forward to receiving an update from Governor Inslee on the 30th (regarding mask requirements & reopening plans), but in the meantime ask that you stay masked in consideration of our immunocompromised and older community members within the gym.

We will communicate our plans for gym operation changes as soon as we know what they will be following the upcoming announcement. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we all work together to keep each other healthy!

Update as of June 22, 2021

Main gym max capacity is now 10 members per hour.

In order to allow time for all of our RHF staff members to complete their 2nd Covid shots (and their 2 week period after 2nd shot) we are asking that you continue to adhere to our community expectation of wearing a mask at all times within the gym for a little while longer. In addition, along with many other gyms and businesses, we are waiting for some more information before masks become optional (for those vaccinated) inside our facility.

We appreciate your patience as we are figuring out the next steps, until then feel free to email staff@rainierhealth.com with any questions. Thanks as always for the ways you've continued doing your part to keep our community safe & healthy!

Update as of July 1, 2020

#SafeWithRHF.png

"We're reopening! As the county continues to move through phases, we as a business are receiving clarity around what each phase means for our community. Our goal is to be the BEST phase 2 gym possible! We will continue our reopening, at whatever capacity we can. Whether it's outside, or limited to 5 people, we're all in and hope you are too! Starting Monday July 6th the main gym will be open for general use! 5 members can sign up via the RHF app per hour. Listed below are the measures we are taking (& asking you to help us with!) as you come back into the gym next week, so that we all #StaySafeWithRHF

Social Distancing and Safety Guidelines:

1. Upon entering the gym, each member will be expected to:

- disinfect their shoes on the mat

- sanitize their hands

- get a temperature check

- grab their sanitation kit

- wash their hands

2. We ask that if you have any symptoms including a fever or cough, that you stay away from the gym for at least 48 hours.

3. We will be limiting people within the gym to 5 members and 1 staff per hour

4. You will have to sign up for your intended time slot the day before. Once the 5 member limit is met for a specific hour, no one else will be able to sign up to attend. If someone shows up for an hour and is not registered, we will unfortunately have to ask you to leave if we've reached the limit of 5 members.

5. We are asking members to wait outside (we'll have spots for you to stand on!) until you are welcomed in by a staff member. We will not be able to have people gathering in the lobby waiting to use the facility as others try to leave.

6. Time slots will be 50 minutes long. This will give an extra 10 minutes after each session for members finish cleaning and leave the facility before the next hour begins.

7. All members will be asked to sanitize their hands as they walk into the gym. Sanitizer will be provided at the entrance for everyone to use.

8. Since you will have to be signed in before you can utilize the space, all that is needed is to state your name (or use your RHF App or keycard to check in) as you check in with staff at the front desk.

9. All personal belongings besides water bottles must stay OFF the gym floor. Keep in mind that lockers will not be available for use during this first stage of re-opening.

Update as of June 22, 2020

What does King County Phase 2 mean for RHF? - We'll be introducing & detailing out phase 2, over a series of stages, within the next couple of days. (Phase 2 is very similar to Phase 1.5 & still includes limits of 5 people, and 1:1 training). Continue to check here for more details!

Update as of June 18, 2020

King County has been approved for Phase 1.5 of the Safe Start Re-Opening Plan. What this means for RHF is that we can re-open the main facility only for 1:1 Personal Training (by appointment). We are also hard at work getting our outdoor space ready for Small Group (limit of 5 people) Outdoor Classes & Training Sessions. More details for these to come! All of our current virtual options are still continuing.

Please Note: As much as we all would like for RHF programs to return back to usual operation, at this time, we will not be re-opening the main facility for general usage on June 22nd, per our previous update. Our top priority as a staff is to ensure we are providing a safe place to workout & adhering to what specifically is allowed for fitness centers within the King County Safe Start Phases. We will continue to update this page as we know more details. Please see this website for more information on the sources we have been staying up to date on.
